Property fire
Fire control received a call from an occupant in a house reporting a flat roof attached to their property was on fire on Henty Close, Dawlish.
Control, mobilised 3 fire appliances from Dawlish, Teignmouth and Middlemoor along with an supporting officer.
Once on scene, crews confirmed fire within flat roof which was spreading through fascias towards the roof. Crews got straight to work with 2 Breathng apparatus, 1 hose reel jet and 1 safety jet.
Update from crews states the fire was spreading to the soffits, BA had been increased to 4 and HRJ and safety jets had been increased. Crews were also using small tools and a thermal imaging camera to assist in cutting away to extinguish fire.
19:36 - Crews confirmed BA had been stood down and good progress was being made cutting away.
Final update - a 2 storey property measuring 10m x 8m. Fire started in first floor balcony which spread to joists, fascias and soffits. Crews used a total of 4 BA, 2 HRJ, 2 Safety jets, 1 TIC, triple extension ladder and small tools. This fire was confirmed as accidental.
