Outdoor fire

Fire Control received a call to several bales of silage on fire in a field near Kentisbury.  Three fire engines from Combe Martin, Ilfracombe and Lynton were mobilised as well as a water carrier from Barnstaple and off road vehicles from Lynton and Porlock.

Fire crews confirmed a fire involving approximately 10 bales of hay and silage within a pile of 30 bales.  The farmer was already in attendance trying to remove bales not yet affected by fire to an open field.

Fire crews extinguished the fire using two hose reel jets.  The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
