Devon and Somerset Fire Control had 22 calls to a fire at the above location.

Two fire appliances from Newton Abbot, Ariel platform ladder from Torquay, two fire appliances from Teignmouth, Command support unit from Totnes and incident command unit from Bovey Tracey were mobilised as crews made up pumps due to the amount of calls and smoke coming from the roof.

11:38hrs - This is a building of three floors measuring 15m by 20m with the roof well alight. All persons accounted for and clear of building. Two breathing apparatus and two attack jets in use.

12:20 - steady progress being made, Aerial making good progress in fighting fire in roof. Two breathing apparatus, one hose reel jet, two main jets in use.

12:50 - Now six breathing apparatus wearers  in use, gas and electric now discontinued from property. Meeting being held with police, ambulance and fire and western power making efforts to isolate overhead external cables to property.

13:16 - police drone is now in use assessing roof hotspots to assist with damping down.  

13:40 - Steady progress is being made damping down using the aerial ladder platform, hose reel jets, main jets, breathing apparatus sets and two hydrants in use. Western Power isolated the electricity supply.

15:42 - The incident is being scaled back to 2 fire appliances and the aerial ladder platform.

16:38 - Crews still damping down hotspots using the aerial ladder platform, with safety equipment in use. Further details to follow.
