Incident - Road Traffic Collision - Persons Trapped

Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service received a call from a member of the public reporting a Road Traffic Collision at the above location.

Three fire appliances from South Molton, Witheridge and Dulverton were immediately mobilised by Fire Control. A heavy rescue vehicle from Middlemoor was also mobilised due to reports of the vehicle being partially off road.

On arrival, the Incident Commander confirmed a two vehicle road traffic collision, with one person trapped in each vehicle. Crews got to work to stabilise the vehicles and began extricating the casualties from the vehicles using hydraulic cutting and rescue equipment.

One male casualty was extricated from one vehicle and a female casualty was extricated from the second vehicle. Both casualties were left in the hands of paramedics.
