Incident - Rescue of person from height

Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service received a call from a member of the public this evening reporting that her son had become stuck approximately 40ft high on a rock face.

An appliance and an Aerial Ladder Platform from Torquay along with a specialist rescue team from Camels Head were immediately mobilised by Fire Control.

On arrival the Incident Commander confirmed that an 8 year old boy was stuck on a rock face in a Quarry. Crews quickly got to work to rescue the boy using safe working at height equipment.

Once rescued the boy was checked over by Ambulance crews.
