Fire Control received several calls to reports of a vehicle fire on the A30 Westbound between the Fingle Glen and Woodleigh junctions.
1 Fire engine from Exeter Danes Castle and 1 from Middlemoor were sent to the location.
On arrival, crews confirmed this to be a single vehicle fire, which was parked in a layby, well alight.
All persons were safe and accounted for. The fire was extinguished using 2 breathing apparatus wearers and 1 hose reel jet.
The vehicle was severely damaged by fire and the cause was accidental. Duty of care was left with the owner.
