Fire Control received a call to reports of smoke coming from the back of a recycling vehicle.
1 fire engine from Exeter Middlemoor and 1 from Exeter Danes Castle, along with the water bowser, were sent to the location.
On arrival, crews confirmed, one dust cart, well alight and requested a 3rd fire engine for water. This was sent on from Danes Castle.
Crews got to work with 2 breathing apparatus wearers and 2 hose reel jets.
The vehicle was relocated back to the depot to be emptied so the fire could be fully extinguished. The cause was accidental.
