Vehicle fire
Fire Control received calls to reports of a fire on the A38, Westbound between the Marley Head and Woodpecker junctions.
1 fire engine from Buckfastleigh and 1 from Ashburton were sent to the location.
On arrival, crews confirmed this be a vehicle, on the hard shoulder, well alight.
The fire was extinguished by firefighters using 2 breathing apparatus wearers, 1 hose reel jet, small tools, hydraulic tools and a thermal imaging camera. An environmental pack was also used to mop up spillages.
The vehicle was completely destroyed by fire and the cause was accidental.
Duty of care was left with Police, Highways and the vehicle owner.
