Fire control received numerous calls to a vehicle towing a caravan on fire on the hard shoulder of the M5 motorway between junction 26 Wellington and junction 25 Taunton.
Three fire engines from Wellington and Taunton were mobilised along with the water carrier from Bridgwater. On arrival crews confirmed that the caravan had been unhitched and moved away from the vehicle. Crews got to work using 2 breathing apparatus, 1 CAFS foam branch and thermal imaging camera. The vehicles engine was 100% damaged by fire with the rest of the vehicle 80% damaged. The cause of the fire was accidental.
