Vehicle fire

Fire control received a call to a cherry picker on fire close to a commercial building on Grove Lane in Frome.

Control mobilised 1 fire appliance from Frome.

Once on scene, crews confirmed 1 cherry picker well alight close to building. Due to locked gates, this was hampering the crews ability to access fire immediately so crews were using 1 ladder to access premise and 1 hose reel jet to extinguish fire.

Crews confirmed key holder was now in attendance so full access had been gained to premise. This also meant crews were able to enter building to check for any fire spread. 

Final update - fire involving 1 cherry picker was completely destroyed by fire. Fire also caused 10% damage to external sandwich panels of commercial premise. Crews used 2 hose reel jets and small tools to extinguish the fire. This incident was confirmed as accidental.
