Fire control received a call from a member of the public stating their Telehandler had caught fire within a field of corn crops.
Control immediately mobilised 2 Fire Engines coming from Kingsbridge and Salcombe, along with a Water Bowser from Plympton.
Once in attendance crews confirmed 1 Telehandler on fire in a field of corn and got to work using 2 Breathing Apparatus and 1 Hose Reel Jet to extinguish the fire.
Crews returned the Water Bowser before it arrived on scene due to a hydrant in the local vicinity of this incident.
Crews confirmed that the Telehandler was severely damaged by fire and they had sucessfully extinguished it using 2 Breathin Apparatus and 2 Hose Reel Jets.
The cause of the fire is believed to be accidental.
