Vehicle fire

Fire control received a call from a member of the public stating their forest harvester had caught alight in a field. 

Control immediately mobilised 2 Fire Engines which came from Danes Castle and North Tawton as well as a Water Bowser which also came from Danes Castle. 

Once on scene crews confirmed 1 Forest Harvester well alight and were at work using 2 Breathing Apparatus and 1 Compressed Air Foam Jet to extinguish the fire. 

Once crews successfully extinguished the fire they used a 45mm Jet to dampen down the surrounding area to prevent the grassland in the field igniting. 

Unfortunately the vehicle was 100% damaged by fire, the cause is believed to have been accidental.
