Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service received call from a member of the public reporting a fire in a chimney of a property at the above location.
One fire appliance from Totnes was immediately mobilised by fire control.
On arrival, the Incident Commander confirmed that there was a fire in the chimney of an open fire place and got crews to work using chimney gear and rods to extinguish the fire.
The Incident Commander later made up for another fire appliance which came from Paignton, for the assistance of further crew members. Using a 13.5m ladder, crews tackled the fire from the outside of the chimney.
Once confirmed safe and the fire fully out, the incident was handed back to the occupier.
