Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service received multiple call reporting a domestic property on fire at the above location.

Fire control immediately mobilised one fire appliance from Plympton, one fire appliance from Crownhill, one fire appliance from Greenbank and a duty officer to attend this incident.

Prior to the arrival of the fire crew one male was rescued from the ground floor flat. On arrival the officer in charge requested the attendance of Ambulance due to the male having server burns.

The officer in charge confirmed fire in ground floor flat, one male was extricated from ground floor flat by members of the public and fire crews rendered first aid prior to the arrival of the ambulance. A further two females were rescued from the first floor flat by firefighters using a 105 ladder.

Crews got to work with six breathing apparatus, three hose reel jets, one safety jet, positive pressure ventilation and thermal imaging cameras.

The officer in charge requested the attendance of police and fire investigation officer to attend due to unknown cause of ignition.

Ambulance conveyed the male to hospital via land ambulance.

Fire investigation is being conducted to determine the cause of the fire.
